Hen Parties - 5 things you should NEVER forget when planning a hen do

Hen Parties - What NOT To Forget 04/01/2024

Don’t forget…

...Anyone! Make sure you send invitations to ALL the guests… There’s nothing worse than choosing a day or weekend, booking your activities, restaurants and bars for all your guests and some can’t make it. Worse still, if you’re the maid of honour with the responsibility of hen party planning, and you forget to check the date is okay with the bride-to-be! Double, Triple check that she is free, she’s a VIP after all.

and Don’t forget…

...To take the Bride’s tastes into consideration. What would her perfect hen do look like? She needs to be surprised, excited, and thankful that she has such amazing friends that know her so well, so keep this in mind. There’s no point in taking her to a cocktail making class if she wants to test her strengths with some axe throwing, is there?

definitely Don’t forget…

Not everyone is in the same financial position… If you’re hoping to sun it up somewhere in the Mediterranean, make sure this is an achievable budget for everyone. If you leave plenty of notice for everyone, it means those that those who need time to save up have ample time to do so and this goes for any activity you plan. Hen Do’s can become costly so be transparent with the guests about the cost.

also, Don’t forget...

...To factor in the cost of the Bride’s place too. Of course this is optional, but for those who want to make the hen feel extra special, make sure all of her costs are covered. You could even cover a few rounds of drinks for her so she really has nothing to worry about.

And finally don’t forget...

To tell everyone what the dress code is. This is an important one. It’s important to avoid guests over-dressing or under-dressing and it’s your responsibility to make sure everyone has got the memo, particularly if you have a themed hen night, I don’t think a sparkly dress would fit in with a Pirate theme. If you have a less conventional or adventurous activity planned, make sure everyone has got suitable shoes, coats, gloves, sunglasses… EVERYTHING!

You'll thank me later, trust me.
